Why Give to Hope Village for Children?

Hope Village for Children was founded in June 2000 by actress Sela Ward, a Meridian native, with a vision to “lead each child to a place where hope is born.” Within our first five years, that vision became a reality.

Hope Village for Children is a beacon of light in Meridian, MS, serving some of the most vulnerable members of our community—children in crisis. Every day, children arrive at Hope Village seeking safety, stability, and healing from circumstances no child should have to endure.

When you give to Hope Village, you’re doing more than donating—you’re investing in brighter futures. Your support provides:

  • Safe shelter and basic needs for children who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned.

  • Counseling and emotional support to help them overcome trauma and begin the journey toward healing.

  • Educational and life skills programs that empower them to grow into confident, capable adults.

  • A loving, family-style environment where they can experience stability, hope, and unconditional care.

Your generosity ensures that every child at Hope Village has the opportunity not just to survive, but to thrive. Together, we can break cycles of hardship and create pathways of opportunity—one child at a time.

Giving to Hope Village means giving children the chance to reclaim their childhood, rewrite their story, and embrace a future filled with hope.
