At Illuminations, we help families THINK differently about dyslexia, IMAGINE a future of success, and CREATE a personalized plan to get there.

Founded in 2013 in the basement of Pleasant Hill Methodist Church in Zero, Mississippi, Illuminations Center for Dyslexia is now located on the second floor of Anderson's Education Building in downtown Meridian. Since our beginning, we’ve served over 1,000 students in 18 states and 4 countries—providing hope, healing, and the tools to read, write, and thrive.

We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting students with dyslexia through evidence-based therapy, personalized tutoring, and parent education. Our mission is to make structured literacy accessible for every child—regardless of diagnosis, zip code, or income level. We offer both in-person and online services and work with each family to create an individualized plan that fits their schedule, budget, and child’s needs.

Dyslexia is a common learning difference that affects the way the brain processes written language. It is not a reflection of intelligence or effort. In fact, many highly successful individuals—including Walt Disney, Whoopi Goldberg, Steven Spielberg, and Leonardo da Vinci—have had dyslexia. With the right support, children with dyslexia can become confident, capable readers and lifelong learners.
