Lauderdale County Habitat For Humanity (LCHFH) was established in 1989. Eighty two families have become homeowners through our homeowner program. The homes are sold to the family with the family paying a mortgage, taxes and insurance. We have helped approximately 85 homeowners with critical home repairs, weatherization and home preservation. These repairs include roofs, HVAC, handicap bathrooms and exterior maintenance. Our mission is to bring communities together to help families build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. Currently we are working with elderly/disabled homeowners to help them with repairing their homes. This allows for decrease in utilities and improvement in health of those who live in the home. There is an added bonus to these repairs for the areas that we serve and work. The bonus is an improvement in the "landscape" for our service areas. Our organization is focusing on how we can build a more equitable future for everyone. LCHFH is dedicated to building a better community in all of our service areas.
As we drive into these counties - to and from work, church, dinner, shopping or an event - we see the need for help. We want to build stabilization. We want to build pride. WE want build love and a sense of community. With your time, talents and donations, Lauderdale County Habitat for Humanity with the Critical Repair program can build all of these - one home at a time.
