The Junior Auxiliary of Meridian consists of dedicated women who volunteer their time, talents, and hearts to serve the needs of the children of Meridian and Lauderdale County. We believe that when we invest into the lives of these children, we invest into the future of our own community. By nurturing their potential, we are shaping the next generation of leaders, neighbors, and visionaries.

We are incredibly proud of our city and the role our 5 standing projects play in shaping a brighter future for its youngest citizens. The generosity of individuals and businesses like yours makes our work possible. We thank you for your support and  investment into the bright future of the community we share.

Our Projects

Helping Hands: Helping Hands provides basic necessities to area children throughout the school year. JA of Meridian partners with local school counselors to identify and address student needs including uniforms, eye exams and glasses, and shoes. Our goal is to help children have a more positive outlook by having proper necessities for the school environment.

Teacher Mini-Grants: JA recognizes the important role teachers play in the lives of children and teens in our community. Teacher Mini Grants provides financial grants for teachers, counselors and librarians to implement innovative and creative projects within the classroom setting, including STEM labs, fine arts education, reading and physical health and education.

Reading is FUNdamental: As one of Junior Auxiliary of Meridian’s longest standing projects, JA of Meridian members have been reading to local elementary students across Lauderdale County Public Schools and Meridian Public Schools for over 40 years. With funding provided by the Phil Hardin Foundation, as well as donations from our generous sponsors - JA of Meridian supports the importance of literacy, child development, and learning through book distributions as well as community events that promote reading and literacy.

JAMS: Junior Auxiliary Mentors (JAMS) provides mentorship to teens living in foster care at Hope Village. Operating year-round, JAMs supports the mission of Hope Village by providing stability, consistency, and encouragement through fun activities that also teach life skills such as financial literacy, gardening, etiquette, and healthful living.

Crown Club: Crown Club offers  young ladies from local high schools a chance to cultivate their character through community service.  Crown Club members participate in monthly service, mentor, and professional development opportunities.
