Night to Shine – Meridian is an annual prom-night experience for individuals with special needs, ages 14 and older, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation and hosted locally by Central United Methodist Church.
For one unforgettable evening, our honored guests are welcomed on the red carpet and celebrated with dinner, dancing, music, activities, photographs, and a royal crowning—because every guest is a King or Queen. The entire experience is provided free of charge to guests and their families.
Night to Shine – Meridian is made possible through the generosity of local businesses, organizations, churches, volunteers, and caring individuals. More than a special event, it is a community-wide celebration of God’s love that promotes dignity, inclusion, belonging, and joy for people with special needs and their families.
Your support helps us continue creating a night when every guest is seen, valued, celebrated, and reminded of just how deeply they are loved.
Mission
Our mission is to celebrate people with special needs by creating an unforgettable experience rooted in God’s love, where every guest is honored, valued, and crowned as a King or Queen. Through faith, inclusion, and community partnership, Night to Shine – Meridian seeks to foster a culture in which people of all abilities know they belong and are deeply loved.
Needs
Night to Shine – Meridian serves a community whose members with special needs and their families often have limited opportunities to participate in fully accessible, inclusive social events. Each year, we anticipate welcoming more than 100 honored guests, along with their parents and caregivers, for an evening provided entirely free of charge.
Meeting this need requires significant community support. Financial contributions, in-kind donations, business partnerships, and hundreds of volunteers help provide meals, decorations, entertainment, photography, guest activities, safety services, and other event essentials. As the Tim Tebow Foundation’s start-up support decreases, our goal is for Night to Shine – Meridian to become fully community-funded by its fourth year. Continued local investment is essential to ensure this celebration remains available and sustainable for individuals with special needs and their families throughout Meridian and the surrounding area.
